Split bill for restaurants and cafés

With the Tablilo split bill, guests see the bill on their phone and split it themselves: each their own items, equal shares, or a set amount. They pay in cash, on the venue's card terminal or online.

The problem: splitting the bill by hand

A table of six friends asks for the bill. The waiter brings one ticket, everyone gets out a calculator, one pays cash, another by card, a third only has a 200 DH note. The table stays blocked and the waiter waits.

Splitting the bill on the phone removes that moment and frees the table sooner.

How the split bill works

Each guest opens the bill tab on their phone and sees the table total and what is still owed. They choose how to pay: 'my items' (only what they ordered), equal shares, or 'Montant', a set amount (for example, I pay 50 DH).

Then they choose the payment method: cash, the venue's card terminal (TPE), or the venue's own online payment account if it has one. The amount left updates for everyone else, and the waiter sees what is paid and what remains.

Tablilo never holds the venue's money and takes no commission on payments.

Setup in the dashboard

In settings, turn on the split bill and choose the payment methods you accept: cash, card terminal, online. These options also follow the venue type you chose, and you can change them at any time.

Limits and good practice

For cash and card terminal payments, the waiter still collects the money: the guest's phone shows how much to pay, it does not replace the till. Online payment goes through your own payment account, not through Tablilo. At the end of service, count the cash: the difference between expected and counted cash is recorded for the owner.

Which venues benefit most

Cafés where groups of friends stay for hours, restaurants and pizzerias with big tables, lounges and rooftops where everyone orders separately. In counter mode guests pay first, so the split bill matters less.

Frequently asked questions

Can a guest pay only for what they had?

Yes, with 'my items'. They can also pay an equal share or an amount they choose.

Does Tablilo take a commission on payments?

No. The money goes straight to the venue, in cash, on its card terminal or through its own online payment account.

What if a guest pays cash?

They pick cash on their phone and the waiter collects at the table. The table's amount left updates.

Can one guest pay for the whole table?

Yes. They pay the full amount left, or any amount they choose, and the others see that the bill is settled or what remains.
